You can use Mr. Laquer (tama ba?) basta it goes the same brand as your laquer paints. Pwede rin industrial grade laquer thinner. Di ako gano nagamit ng laquer. Other members can help.

Hi I am a user of gunze lacquers or more known to be gunze mr. color. I've had the best results with gunze mr. color using gunze mr. thinner to thin this paint. The mixture I use for airbrushing is 40% paint and 60% thinner. Hope this helps.

hi jeremy,

the best thinner to use, although expensive, is mr. gunze thinner. i dont have an exact ratio but when using tamiya sprayworks, i add paint to the thinner until it has the consistency of milk (not evaporated . :-)). use a thinner consistency when painting camouflage patterns.

you can use hardware lacquer thinner or automotive acrylic thinners. but be careful as these melt plastic. airbrushing a thick coat of paint at one pass may 'craze' the plastic.

you can also us hardware lacquer flo. this does not melt plastic, but may dry a bit slower than gunze thinner. or you can mix both laquer thinner and flo.

if i may suggest further, to conserve mr. gunze thinner, maybe you can use mr. gunze thinner only when painting the exterior of the model including the clear topcoat and hardware lacquer on interiors like cockpit, wheel wells, cowling interiors including engines, landing gears, etc.

with regards to your problem on 'webbing', your paint mixture is just as you said, 'sobrang lapot' (too thick). add more thinner until your mixture has the consistency of milk.

hope this helps!

jeremy47: be sure to make it as milky as possible in consistency.....if not what will happen is (esp with lacquer topcoats) that it will eat through all the layers of paint and ur work is pretty much like trash just like what happen to my hornet....sob

Hi, Jer:

I concur with Bigman. I'd take his advice if I were you.

If Gunze thinner is too expensive and scarce. The best alterative is certain automotive lacquer thinners (not the ordinary ones). I'd recommend Hudson automotive acrylic thinner. You can use it on all paints. Do not use it to remove paint or it will eat the plastic like acid.

parang my webby effect pag naispray?

the webby effect is end result of incompatibilty of paint and thinner (para syang cotton candy na lumamabas sa airbrush :-) ). check on the label for the suggested thinner or use the same brand.

To eliminate the web effect, thin the paint heavily.

Here's a trick I learned: put thinner in the cup of your airbrush. Dip a paintbrush in the paint you're gonna use to load it up, then mix that loaded brush in the cup of thinner. Repeat if necessary. Test to see if you got it right by spraying on scrap.

Hope this helps.
