Hi guys Its me again. I was just wondering about this Ranking system. What does it mean and how do you move up in rank? Another question. I'm building an M5A1 and I need to know what you guys use to make realist rust color for the undercarriage. Thanks!

To get "promoted" (moving up in rank) is determined by the number of posts that you have submitted.
There's several ways to make realistic rust. There's pastel chalks, washes with something like a burnt sienna color, and there's instant rust http://www.modernoptions.com/html/technical/howrust.html .
I know there's other options, just can't think of them right now.

If you need some heavy rust flowers, a very easy way is to put some CA glue (gel, not liquid) where you want the rust and give it a light touch with heavy grain sand paper when the glue is still wet. Then paint and drybrush.

Hi!
I use different methods depending on the piece I'm working on...
Anyway this is the most used by me:
I give the pure colour (usually red brown) along with some fine sand (using an old brush). When it's dry I drybrush all with a more reddish brown (added a drop or two if red).
Bye!
