Hi everybody!!
I just started my first resin/PE/plastic convertion and I found out Cianocrilate glue is not working very well.
PE parts fell off from plastic and resin.
I used a drop of future and with small parts it worked well...but what about falling off parts?
I read, here and there, that probably the best gluse is bi component...but I feel reaaaally uncomfy using it!
Any suggestions?
thank you!!!!!
ciao from Italy
Luca

After trying cheap 'own brand' CA glue and finding a similar problem to Muca, I now use Loctite all the time - no more problems!

I had a hard time with CA at first. Then I realized that my CA was old. I got a new bottle and it works great. You may want to check the expiration date on your CA.

I agree with Dave! Instead of the Gel get the one with the Brush. Much easier and more accurate to use and lasts a long time. The extra money is really worth it.

Here is one more thought, on my ship models I found that I dont like useing CA glue.
(got tired of glueing everything, including fingers together!) So now all I use is white glue(elmers) for all my PE work. It works great and gives me more time to work with the parts before it sets up! It also dries clear, so there is very little clean up!

I usually use BSI brand CA glue. Like Everyone said, make sure it is fresh, and also make sure you wash all your resin and plastic parts really well. I think that the resin especially uses alot of mold release, so it may be kind of greasy.

I think the the white glue might do well to tack in place but does not make a permanent bond.

I have only used Elmers glue, But I think that Any of the other brands of white glue should be the same. And yes washing the parts would help. Also if you want to make sure your pe stay's put, you might tack on some CA glue at the weak points! So far I have found no problems with white glue holding.
Cheers,
Garry
