I downloaded some free photo editing software called GIMP. It appears to be roughly equal to Photo Shop but I haven't played with it all that much yet. Did I mention it was free? Anyway, I thought I would pitch this out to see if anyone else wanted to try it out.

I work in the printing and imaging group of a large computer/printer company. I asked a friend here who is a semi professional photographer. He can make a digital camera and printer do wonders. He has used GIMP on a system running Linux and says it's a pretty good program, though not as user friendly or intuitive as PhotoShop.
In case you're interested, while he has PhotoShop, he also is very happy with a program called PaintShop Pro from JASC Software. At about $100 he says it compares very well to the $700 PhotoShop. The PhotoShop essentials is also very good, but watered down, at about $65.
I'm going to have to download GIMP and see for myself. Thanks for sharing.
