I think editing up to approximately a week after posting should be enough for all posts except maybe Buy/Sell-postings. Mistakes and/or changes of mind that haven't been discovered within a week have usually become irrelevant. A new post can be appended to clarify things or maybe the admins can fix major mistakes in dire need of a correction.
Another aspect of editing old posts:
Will the edit bring the post/thread/topic back on the first page or will it stay on page 3 or 4?
In that case updating the topic with a new post could be preferable if it brings the topic back to the front page. Trying to see an opportunity/feature instead of a problem ...

OMG ... I read in another post that it will be possible to post photos DIRECTLY on the site! .... God exists and has been here, personally but I think many others have been held back from posting their own works by the complexity of the forum in this area , I think it will be a huge game changer, for me this news is already worth all the problems that will follow in the coming months !! ... thanks, thanks a lot

The new software looks to be a quantum leap in performance. Well done!
However I can’t seem to log in to the beta, I would love to have a shot at it. What do I need to do?
Thanks, J.

Thanks Jim,
That’s me registered. Already made a test post. All done on tablet and image loaded directly from device, excellent!
Looking forward to full release. Keep up the good work guys, thanks again.
