That's about fighting a tank against other tanks-- this is just a way to get to mecha. Giant robots.

Who runs an M1 in reverse at full speed? Really?

Each one of those walkers would have been scrap hit by a main gun round. And tank gunnery is supposed to be that good.

Still looks like a good story. Want to see more.

Also recommend Gate. Modern JSDF takes on a fantasy world?
