Top notes for creativity though ...
I can only hope that there wasn't any permanent damage to the Jags ..

Never could understand Brits and their love of Jags. Tho I do like the E-type. And I can see the appeal of the Eagle Speedster.

They say there is no replacement for displacement unless you do something like this:

That was cool

Displacement: I think it is mostly about torque at the right moment and the ratio between the weight to be moved and the available torque/power. Getting hp only when revving to the red line doesn't really help when trying to accelerate from a standstill. This is where electric motors have an advantage, full hp from no revs at all.
Have you seen steam powered tractors doing tractor pulling events? They have LOTS of torque and continous torque without any non powered periods between spark plugs firing.

Top Gear tribute to British motor industry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmcmqTAu6b8

When Ford designed my truck they took a stock F150 drive train with a 5.4 liter V8 with a stock F150 automatic transmission and made some changes to the engine. They put the stock transmission behind the engine ran some tests and promptly destroyed the stock gearbox. The modified engine produced so much low end torque it grenaded the trans. So they modified the transmission only to have it destroyed again. So the engineers took the transmission out of a F250 diesel, designed to handle the massive torque of the diesel engine and stuck that behind the 5.4l. It worked great except it twisted the stock F150 driveshaft. So they put a 6 inch aluminium racing driveshaft in only to find a lot of axle wrap. To fix that they placed heavy duty 5 spring leaf springs one the rear axle instead of the stock 3 spring set. This solved that problem and increased the cargo capacity from 800lbs to 1350lbs.

A 5.4l isn't a big engine, 331ci, but the Ford guys went nuts seeing how far they could take one.

I don't think that engine will fit under my hood.

Dang it.
