Gents,

For the best of me I can't figure out how to fold this piece of photo etch.

The instructions are not to clear.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

The “strap” should be able to be bent around with a pair of tweezers. If I can see correctly, the part in the background is already bent at the lines provided on the piece, and just needs the “strap” portion bent with the tweezers also.

Hope that helps...🤔

ahandykindaguy - Thanks for the advice. you are mostly correct, for there are a few three-dimensional bends to be done as well. I think I have it.. I will upload progress tonight.

Cheers

You’re quite welcome. From the picture, at least with my iPad, it looked to me that the one piece closest to the edge had already been bent to shape. Most pieces of PE have score lines that give the modeller a hand on where to fold. Not all mind you, but many of the makers do this. In stereotypically Canadian fashion, I am sorry if my answer was not clear...

Happy modelling. Stay safe. Looking forward to the next update.

Dave.

It looks to me like the handle-shaped piece should be folded back over the other end. Am I seeing a rectangular bit on one end of the strap? To me it looks as though that bit gets trapped inside the fold-over of the handle. I can't make the image bigger on my screen so I can't quite tell. Trying to compare it to the pic Joe linked to.

Yes, this is exactly what has had me stumped.

The picture sort of indicates that the loop is already in the direction of the loop, but In reality it’s on the other side.

Luckily the next 6 of them , , are a few steps away; more time to ponder.

Which kit is this, exactly? If I can pull up the instructions off scalemates or somewhere maybe I can get a better look at the parts.

GFIFFON MODEL L35003 - WW2 GERMAN 2CM FLAK 38

Great upgrade set so far, I will most likely only use 75% of it , besides some of the instructions no complaints.
