STARTING AT 5:00 pm CENTRAL TIME USA. The state of Illinois will be on LOCK-DOWN called a "Stay In Place". It will not be policed heavily, they are expecting everyone to abide by the rules. We can still go to the store for food, walk our dogs and such, We are to keep group gathering to a minimal, meaning very minimal. The less the better. If you have a big family, you have no choice, but those of us with families of 4 or 5 are encouraged not to invite other family members to our houses for the lock down. Keep it small.

So, I have had time to organize my temporary work bench. I will post a few pics soon out of pure boredom. Please bare with me, the boredom may cause a boom in post and pics from me. Stay safe everybody.

Welcome to the club!

My bench was a complete wreck for the past several months. It had collected everything from books to dirty laundry. Now I have nothing but time, so I cleaned up the area. I should have took a before and after. It took the better part of the morning and midafternoon to get this area presentable.

OK, continuing with the Lock Down boredom. Here's what I decided to put on the work bench. This is an old Verlinden 1:35 diorama.

I have a set of 1/35 LEGEND heads. I was planning on using at least one head from this set with the Verlinden figures. I think the LENGEND heads look too small for my Verlinden figures. I'll post a pic of the size difference. To my eye, it's quite extreme.

So, it's Sunday morning and I have been on self lockdown not even 24 full hours. I think this will be a fairly hard adjustment for me as I am sure it will be for many others. Good news is I have tons of kits to catch up on.

Bad news is: I have nothing but time to make annoying post

It appears as if this thread has become my personal lockdown blog.

I am not a figure painter by any means. If their are those who are good at this type of building process I would welcome and appreciate all tips.

i know how you feel mate, it s case of keep posting or read the news, which i am trying to avoid because there is only one subject and its increase in numbers.

painting figures is something i have dabbled in and i generally make my own flesh tones rather than using straight from the jar/tin. i use oil paints which take days to dry and mix flesh tones from burnt sienna, raw sienna and titanium white.

Thank you Mr. Myers. I do have a set of oils that I have never used. Perhaps this would be a good time to give them a go. Good luck to you and your family. It's getting very serious here in the States.

The two without arms have weapons that need fitted before placement.

Lost a hand in the carpet tonight.

Found a decent replacement in a Tamiya kit. I snipped it from the sprue, cleaned the hand of all imperfections, tried to pick it up with my tweezers to apply glues and the hand shot away as if from a canon! I searched for about and hour and finally gave up. I sat down at my bench and started moving things around and "wala", there was the hand.

well we're in lockdown here in the UK as of midnight local time. not surprising really as the amount of idiots I saw at the weekend breaching the stay at home request was totally insane. alot of people seemed to be treating the weekend as the last chance party, where as my wife and I were shopping for some needed food items before retreating to the safety of our home.

I too have recently lost a small item to the carpet monster that went on the exterior of my tamiya jagdtiger and I have made a replacement and glued it in place.

OK, I have been working a high risk job while the USA begins to go into meltdown. I have been driving UBER to try to keep up with the bills while we wait for government relief to arrive. Everyone is being hit hard in the job market. The good news is, the economy will bounce back, the banks are not struggling, so this is a temporary setback. The bad news is, our loved ones who pass-on are gone forever. There is no price-tag on human life.
