Need help please. Whilst looking at another post about RTV resin etc., I noticed that MicroMark had a really good starter kit for casting at about 37 ($69). Does anybody know where I can obtain a similar pack in Great Britain. I have a feeling a similar thing will be available over here, but it will probably cost 150. Or from anywhere on the net that will ship to UK?

Hi Teacher,

Try looking on : http://www.tiranti.co.uk/index.asp
I've bought plaster from them, and the service is good.

I've actually got this starter set from Micro-Mark. There were no problems shipping it to the UK, or with any of the additional resin and RTV I've ordered since. The only drawback you may find is the shipping cost, it may be high due to the weight.

EDIT ooops, just rechecked their site and they've changed the set by adding a mould release agent in an aerosol can. This may cause problems if shipping by air.

Geoff, I may try contacting them and asking them if they can leave out the mold-release agent, do you have any idea of the shipping cost?

Sorry, I got the starter set some time ago, and the last resin/RTV about 6months ago, so dont remember the postage except it was quite steep. There is another option open to you. All you really need is the RTV, resin and the rubber to rubber mould release (thats in the small bottle). You could get these separately. The mixing/measuring cups, stiring sticks and bushes are easily substituted, and the Kleen Klay, although it's softer, could be replaced by plasticine that's easily found at art & craft outlets.
