I don't know if this is off use for you, because I live in the Netherlands. But I did first buy my modelkits in the store. But that was from the very beginning. When I just started with the hobby. But now I'm only buying online, because there are no stores in my area anymore where I can buy the needed stuff to keep my hobby running. I would recommend Modelbouw Krikke Groningen. You could take a look at them, because I'm thinking they are shipping international as well.

There are many who have had problems with Internet Hobbies, there are a few threads right here on Armorama.
