This is just a response to Fiveodeuce post with regards to simulating burlap on helmets. He mentioned some kind of thread, he didn't specify which. But I think he used skein thread. Its the thread used for embroidery and cross-stitching. The usually are more fine than the regular sewing thread. They also come in thousands of colors and shades so painting won't be a hassle either. You can get then on any craft store.
