Greetings!
I am helping a young man who lives around me to build an Italeri 1/35 Tiger I (Late) that he was having difficulty with. I want to build Tiger 300 of s. Panzer Abteilung 505. It is easy enough to build and detail, but I have a question.
The Tigers of 505 carried logs attached to their sides. Examining photos of #300, I can see no attachment points or tie-down points at all. The log on each side seems to be mounted exactly where the schurzen attach to the hull. I can see no ropes or mounting brackets of any kind.
Does anyone know how these were attached?
Thanks!
Bill Morrison

Looking at period photographs of this unit with the feature you mention the logs look to be attached to the track guards and so I suspect were bolted there.

Some of the photos I've seen, the logs appear to be tied to the tow cables or tow cable brackets.
