Were butt plugs popularly known in the 1960's?
Yes, sex jokes are older than soldiery itself, but I wondered about that particular item. I was thinking of a Christmas Tree sculpture on display in France which was mocked as looking like a butt plug.

I have asked a friend, as I am no expert in that field, and his opinion is that no, he hasn't seen them on vintage porn movies or photos. Seems to be a modern invention. But he may be wrong, he has not seen every movie from the 60's.
