Looking for a pin vise that will reliably hold a 0.3mm drill bit.
They are all advertised to be 0.0~1.5mm but when fully closed, my one only reiably grips a 0.5mm bit. I need something that will reliably grip and hold micro drills.

Peter,
I have the same issue. The best pin vise I have for bits that small is a cheapo piece of gear I picked up in a Japanese hobby store 25 years ago. It won't hold anything larger than 0.4 or so, but it does hold the tiny ones reasonably well.

I dont have any problem with the Tamiya one, which is practically the same as the one posted above, but now I switched to carbide drill bits and I no longer have the problem given that they have the part to put in the chuck all the same, they are sharper but they are also fragile.
i buy them from them..

top quality, good prices and very good customer service, they have also hobby specials

I have the Model craft offering perfectly acceptable as there are four sets of jaws provided covering a very broad selection of drill bits and the price is low.
