I am spending a few weeks for work in Irvine, CA and wondering if there are any military museums or exhibitions that you'd recommend?

In San Diego about 1.5/2 hr south you have Balboa Park, Midway and Leatherneck Museums which where good. Been awhile so I am not sure you can get to Leatherneck Museum these days. If you can, then maybe Camp Pendleton also. They used to have an armor display.

Google shows American Military Museum, Drum Barracks Civil War Museum near by never been to either.

Tamiya USA is very near to your location, if I recall they have a kit museum.
