Has anyone posted this topic before?

I was scrounging through the History Channel's web site when I chanced upon R. Lee Ermy's biography. After getting discharged from the service he studied drama in UNIVERSITY OF MANILA (!!!)where he was discovered by Coppola when he was filming Apocalypse Now. Is this the same Pamantasan ng Maynila or something, medyo ignorante ako sa schools sa capital natin eh... but anyways produkto pala sya ng Pinoy Education System

Hey, UM(or University of Manila) is in San Anton Sampaloc and in MV de los Santos. It's just across were we use to lived. It's really a small University . But I don't think that they have drama courses there.. I was also reading a short bio Of R. Lee and they say that he took up Criminology which was offered sa UM. During the 80's alot of Jordanian and Iranians studied here. Cheaper education daw BTW kasama ang UM sa University Belt.
BTW I like R. Lee Ermy role sa Full Metal Jacket. Typecasted nga sya sa role na Drill Instructor..Pero magaleng sya ..

Based on his bio, he DID serve in the USMC. So his role as that sadistic DI fits him to a T.

He came to the Philippines again to shoot a movie titled the Siege of Firebase Gloria. He appeared in GMA Supershow, clad in Barong and gave the audience a sound bite of his line in Full Metal Jacket.
