I'm having a problem getting the forums to open-- is there a problem or is it just me? All I get when I hit the button to look at all the forums is a blank page with just the header bar at the top. I know recently there seemed to be a problem opening individual topics, but this seems to be affecting the entire forum. I can see the topics if I don't log in, but can't comment. The problem is only evident if I log in. I'm pretty much a computer Luddite, so maybe it's just me, but I've never had this problem before.

Same here. It just takes forever to load the page. I will normally click on a topic and then do other things for a while waiting for it to load.

Good news is, it isn't just you.

Well the latest post page works, just takes ages to actually load any of the posts, been like it for a couple of days on AutoModeler.

Still loading super slow (Thursday 5pm)

I try to open IM's and there is no content in the note (Thursday 12noon)

Tried to post reply to one of my threads - I would type then hit post and the post would just disappear (Thursday 2am)

I tried the 'Latest Posts' a few times and most of the time spent waiting was when waiting for various google ad-services and then some waiting for adserver at kitmaker to respond.

Google ad-services could be a distributed service so that users in deifferent parts of the world experience different delays.

Some browsers show what they are currently loading as a little text field in the lower left corner.

I haven't been able to access the "Latest Posts" on Auto or Aero for a couple of days, and also unable to load images into my Gallery over the same period.

I tested this on Firefox:
1. Click on latest posts
2. As soon as you see the white pane where the Latest posts should be you click on any of the ads on the left side.
3. The Latest posts turn up "immediately" but then they get replaced by the page for the ad you clicked on.

I also tested on Chrome but I didn't get the same results.

I assume that clicking on an ad interrupts the "eternal" wait for some ad-server to respond with the ad for the right hand side. The lower left corner of the Firefox or Chrome browser window shows the url's that the browser is currently contacting and loading from.
I can see that most of the waiting occurs with some Gooogle analytics and some ad-server, the second time thief is Kitmakers own ad-server (it could itself be waiting for some other server)

My conclusion is that the delays are caused by delays in the ad-server microcosmos.

The individual threads seem to be quickly accessible as per usual from outside the site (I have threads I started myself listed in my "favorites" window.)

But the forums page itself is still loading so slow as to appear to be totally non-functional.

p.s. I use a Mac with Safari as my default browser.

I see what Robin is talking about-- I clicked on the RFM ad (because I'm interested in their new M551), and the Forums immediately came up, then the RFM site came up, and I quickly clicked on my "back" arrow. I use Firefox, and am currently on my desktop computer. It doesn't seem to work on my Ipad or IPhone. I also seems to do this only when I'm signed in, it seems OK if I don't sign in-- but then I can't comment. Hopefully it will improve. Thanks to Robin for getting us at least a temporary fix. That RFM Sheridan looks nice....

When I read one of the PM's from Russ I used the "trick" to click on the 'Advertisement'-link.
This resulted in an error message from Firefox:

My conclusion is that the problems are connected to how ads are selected, delivered and presented.
I have experienced delays before and observed that the browser is waiting for google-ads something or other.
