Anyone know of any YouTube channels that are worth watching? I am mostly interested in painting/weathering topics but I am open to anything helpful, especially if they are entertaining as well as informative. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thanks.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I just normally do a search and find a few things. Lots of how-to videos. I mostly look for ships so that's all I have complied on my page.

I watch Flory models good for reviews and builds,also watch Andy's hobby headquarters.

But one of the best is Plasmo plastic models very good model builder.

Andy's is pretty basic-- and I've seen him mess a few things up, so I'd "take it with a grain of salt" (He has an on-line video of a Wingnut Wings Albatros, an $89 Von Richthofen kit) where he states he's going to add some EZ line for rigging, but instead uses oversized stretch fabric for sewing-- a very poor choice for all kinds of reasons--basically ruining the build, up to that point he was doing ok. He also has one for applying weathering for a Sturmtiger, but really doesn't show much. I gather he builds mostly out of the box, and doesn't do a lot of research beforehand. He's OK for very basic stuff, doing mostly reviews as he builds, but if you are looking for better "how to's", I'd look elsewhere. I've found two I like with regard to weathering-- go over to Missing Lynx and check it out, Brett Green has lots of stuff there. MIG has a series there on different techniques, there's also a link there to Adam Wilder's site, with lots of armor stuff. What exactly were you looking for? The absolute best modeling video site (IMHO) on the web is Paul Budzik's website, with lots of modeling "How To's, where he discusses everything from tools to very detailed how-to's on specific subjects, but since he builds museum quality models, not much on weathering. Paul is a Dentist (so he has a lot of neat tools) and a recognized past multiple IPMS Nationals winner. I really like the site below for armor weathering but the "German Armor" is misleading though, as he uses Russian armor for his demonstrations, which are excellent--look Here:

A couple of channels you might want to check out are: Panzermeister36 and Dave's Model Workshop. Both have a number of videos on weathering armor.

I would second Panzermeister. I used to watch Andy but before long I had learned all he had to teach. And he does occasionally screw up biulds and not notice. I watched him attach a Jagdpanzer 38(t) exhaust at a very incorrect angle that he never noticed.

Yes, he's a hobby shop owner, he's also the same guy who "discovered" a way to mix Tamiya paints for airbrushing by filling the paint jar right to the shoulder with thinner (that's the first video of his I watched, the Sturmtiger was the second, and the WnW Albatros was the third-- after that I don't bother anymore). Mixing thinner in the jar is never recommended, and a technique most modeler's have forsaken since the 60s (and earlier) because it dilutes the paint making it unsuitable for other uses. Real painters never mix thinner and paint in the original container as it will contaminate the paint. Then again, he's in the business of selling paint, so it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to him I suppose.

I get the feeling he probably goes through the paint before it has a chance to spoil since he is constantly doing build videos. I do a lot of ETO and Eastern Front stuff, so I use basically the same three colors for my German armor and since I do several builds at one time I know I will likely empty the jars before the alcohol can do much, so far as I have seen on my own kits.
