Welded track on tanks - pictures?

A Polish Firefly is next, and it's covered! The track shoes have end connectors for a 3-6 string of tracks, and road surface OUT. I also have a USMC Sherman that needs welded track armor. How are they welded i.e. a hanger system?? Is top one weld and the rest hang off that one?? ARMS is kicking in......Stuart

Photographic evidence shows that the guide horns were sometimes spot welded to the armour. There are some (Canadian?) wagons where the links were removed but the traces of weld remain.
