Well we are down to less than 140 days before the greatest armor modeling show gets underway in Buffalo, New York and the show theme is "Snow." Building AFVs, softskins, artillery and figures that show they are in a cold weather environment is the ticket to this year's show.

AMPS 2019 Show and AMPS Homepage Updates:

Hotel Accommodations Update: Buffalo Mark Hotel formerly known as the Adams-Mark Hotel - While there may be a few more rooms available at the AMPS special room rate, Thursdays and Fridays are sold out.

New hotel - Wyndam Garden Buffalo Downtown Hotel, 125 High Street, Buffalo, New York 14203, telephone 716 845-0112. The Wyndam Garden Buffalo Downtown Hotel has the AMPS special rate of 119.00, so book that room and gear up for a great AMPS 2019 show you'll never forget. You can call directly or make your reservations on-line, but don't forget to mention you are with the AMPS convention. Visit the AMPS homepage at amps-armor.org for contact information.

Seminars: Each year, AMPS seminar coordinators work hard to provide a variety of seminars ranging from painting and finishing techniques to in-depth vehicle research presentations. The seminar coordinator for AMPS 2019 is hard at work securing presenters for this show that will definitely be crowd pleasers. Once presenters and topics are confirmed, future AMPS show announcements will provide more information.

Vendors: Our vendor coordinator has been working away at lining up a great group of vendors ready to sell their wares at this show. Be prepared to be amazed with the variety of vendors and don't be surprised at the amount of cash you will spend.

Donations: As you are in your 'bunkers' building away for the AMPS 2019 Show, consider looking through your stash for kits, aftermarket sets and/or reference books you may be willing to donate to the AMPS International Show raffle. Newer items in good shape are what we are looking to collect for the raffle. Remember: one modeler's unwanted item may be another modeler's "holy grail." If you've got stuff already to donate to the AMPS raffle, contact the King of Raffle himself, Frank Ciccarella at [email protected].

Show Sponsorships: For individuals and chapters looking to sponsor a category or "Best of" award, we will post a master list on the AMPS homepage when we are ready to begin taking sponsorships. This is a great way to come together as a group and support the show. Point of contact for sponsorships is forthcoming. Stay tuned.

AMPS Homepage (amps-armor.org): Visit the homepage and check out the new format. New to the homepage are:

List of the next Boresight contents
Link to AMPS Gear store (Load up on shirts, jackets, hats and even aprons!)
Link to Vendor Discount Program (Yes, we're bringing this back.)
Link to AMPS review search page (Non-AMPS member and members whose membership lapsed; you will only be able to review 4 reviews per month. AMPS members; you're gonna love this.)
Link to print your own AMPS membership card (While it probably won't get you out of a speeding ticket, it will make your wallet look more important....)

As you are continuing to build for the show and for local chapter builds during the winter months, don't forget to enjoy the hobby along the way. It's supposed to be fun and sorta relaxing; not hard work. Whether it's putting on those final weathering touches or having to scratch build a lost or inaccurate part, it's all part a hobby many of us have come to enjoy; many since our younger years.

Don't forget to visit the AMPS homepage at amps-armor.org and the AMPS Facebook page. Plenty of pics, news and updates around AMPS world to include AMPS 2019 show updates.

Wishing all modelers everywhere a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Years holiday. Hopefully you will be able to find a little time to build in the 'man cave' over the holidays, but don't forget to first enjoy time with family and friends during this season.

Cheers!
