So, I am debating between two compressors, because I have a $100 gift card to amazon, and I do not mind chipping in an extra 50-60 to get an airbrush setup started.



I was looking at:



1. Iwata-Medea Studio Series Ninja Jet Single Piston Air Compressor

2. Tamiya Spray Work Basic Compressor



I plan on doing 1/35 armor 99% of the time.



Thoughts on what to get? or do you guys have recommendations for a compressor sold on amazon around the 100-160 mark?

I would recommend you get a compressor with a tank. Even flow, no pulsing and higher available PSI range. Different types of paint can require different pressures when spraying and some of these small compressors can't do that.

A tank compressor doesn't cost any more than the Iwata but they can be a bit noisy.

And don't forget you will need a few other items for a painting rig:

Water trap
A hose with proper fittings
And I would get a basic airbrush holder. Makes things much easier.

I've had this one for a couple of months. Life expectancy is about 5 years and it comes with a water trap. It's whisper quiet. Can't beat the price, either.
