So, I am debating between two compressors, because I have a $100 gift card to amazon, and I do not mind chipping in an extra 50-60 to get an airbrush setup started.

I was looking at:

1. Iwata-Medea Studio Series Ninja Jet Single Piston Air Compressor

2. Tamiya Spray Work Basic Compressor

I plan on doing 1/35 armor 99% of the time.

Thoughts on what to get? or do you guys have recommendations for a compressor sold on amazon around the 100-160 mark?

I would recommend you get a compressor with a tank. Even flow, no pulsing and higher available PSI range. Different types of paint can require different pressures when spraying and some of these small compressors can't do that.

A tank compressor doesn't cost any more than the Iwata but they can be a bit noisy.

Something like this:

And don't forget you will need a few other items for a painting rig:

Water trap
A hose with proper fittings
And I would get a basic airbrush holder. Makes things much easier.

I've had this one for a couple of months. Life expectancy is about 5 years and it comes with a water trap. It's whisper quiet. Can't beat the price, either. The only drawback is having to wrap the entire roll of teflon tape around the fitting to align the water trap vertically. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078J6SWFX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
