After filling and sanding, I airbrushed a coat of Future to fill in minute defects. I was told by a fellow modeler that after the future it needed to cure 5 days before spraying MM Aluminum Buffing Metalizer. Has anyone done this with success with LESS than 5 days? Seems a long time....
Suggestions??
Thanks!

Patience is a virtue, so maybe he's right
BUT
I've used Brasso on an old TShirt to smooth out defects, then Future'd,
let it cure overnight
(normally dries in 15 minutes or so anyway)
and painted on the metallizer
with success i was happy with.
He may be correct though if your covering a large area
like a base coat, or large scale model panels, etc...
I'm no chemist but I wonder if something in the Metalizer would soften/dilute the Future finish ??? Possible? I dont know.

Sounds good, I have some other things I can do in the meantime, so I will give it a couple days and let you know the results. Thanks for the reply!

Please let us know how it comes out. The thought of spraying a laquer based paint over Future gives me the willies, but it would be a good trick if it works.
FYI, another way of getting a ready-for metalizer finish on plastic is to use the micromark polishing cloths. I find that I can polish a whole model just as fast as I could carefully apply Future to the whole thing.

MickFork - I was doing a tiny part of my model that way,
if youre going base coat, definetely do the Future a little thicker than normal, and let it dry rock solid...

Metallizers and Metalcoats are a lil ..? stranger than normal enamels maybe , they seem to me lil more drastic. But after applying Future and help it with some distanced hot wind blower next day i applied Metalizer with no problems. You shouldnt have any trouble
