Is there an easy way to remove large clumps of superglue that building up In the cap/lid of my Zap-Gap bottle.? (Its seems a shame to discard good superglue, beacuse I cant get the cap back on)

I try scraping it off with a sharp knife blade. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work as well as I had hoped!
