I tried it, and I loved it ! Why didn't I buy it sooner ?

Yep-- the good old Robart paint shaker-- I've had mine going on 20 years and it's still going strong. Broke the rubber strap twice now (they wear out eventually) and replaced it both times with a wide rubber band with some holes punched in it. It does tend to "wander" 'round the bench occasionally if I walk away from it while it's running, but that's because I'm too lazy to swap out the worn rubber feet for new ones-- I just put a heavy weight in front of it. It works far better than stirring for me. I consider it one of my "essential" hobby tools.

The battery operated ones didn't wander like the AC ones do, but you aren't replacing D cell batteries all the time either.
