Working on my Carentan project, I have a number of buildings that will require some sort of roofing. What was the most common roof in France, tile? and what would the frame for said roof look like? I have seen many styles but what would be most accurate? I have done one previously with wood shingles but I am affraid that it was an American style patterned after my own house which was built turn of the century.

May be I wasn't too clear, but what I'm asking is the wood frame structure and support.
