Good morning USA. I brought my Badger 115 volt, 60 Hz, 1.6 amp compressor to Greece for my airbrush. I tried a 75 watt converter but it got too hot. Any electrical engineers out there know what size convertor I should use?

I would estimate that you need 115*1.6 = 184 Watt as a minimum. No wonder that your 75 Watt convertor runs hot :-)


I would recommend searching a convertor of 300 watt minimum for reason of heat generation (and Greece has a warm climate already, cooling is not always easy.

careful, there is a difference between step-up (from 110 to 220 volt) and step down convertors (from 220v to 110 volt). some can be used in both directions.
