I'm looking to re-create welds on my KT and other future kits too.
Stretched sprue & glue followed by jabbing it with round toothpick is my method, but it sometimes gets messy. The widths of the welds are easier to control with sprue.
With putty the widths vary and are real noticable on "mirror" welds.
So my question is how do other members do their welds ?
THANKS in advance !
Tom

Welds are solidified molten metal so often I find the best solution for me is Gunze Mr Dissolved Putty. For the rougher welds (on my SU-152, for example) I used Milliput textured with a halved section of brass tube to give the arcuate texture. Study of the originals on the type you are depicting (rather than other people’s efforts which may look nice but don’t always look much like reality) is key here.
