Well, I think we are done with the Nor'easters for the year, though some may be suffering from the after effects while others of us may have enjoyed a extra day home working in the model bunker. Hopefully everyone and their families have weathered the series of storms, are safe and gearing up for the 2018 AMPS show in Dayton, Ohio where there shouldn't be snow.

With AMPS 2018 just about a month away, now comes decision time: which entries to take and which to leave behind. Which ones to complete for this show and which to be inducted into the "Shelf Queen Hall of Shame." Decision, decisions... One of your many decisions that can directly help the 2018 AMPS show is deciding to be a co-sponsor for one of the remaining categories needing some love and attention or donating some stuff from the stash. . . to make room for new purchases.

Despite much hard work and many efforts of the AMPS marketing team and officers working behind the scenes to enlist category sponsors, while close, we are still a bit short of the funded sponsorship level we were at this time last year. Consider being a co-sponsor to one of several remaining categories needing secondary sponsorships. While it does a small bite out of your spending cash for the show, your help directly supports the show, the society at large, and those award winners certainly appreciate it. Check out the AMPS homepage at amps-armor.org to see which categories are still in need of sponsorship, then reach out to Glen Martin at [email protected] and let him know what you would like to help sponsor.

Also, AMPS is still looking for kit donations. "Raffle King," Frank Ciccarella, the AMPS Raffle Coordinator has been extra busy coordinating with show vendors, manufactures and other AMPS supporters to get kits, reference books, tools, and aftermarket sets all for the AMPS raffle. Donating new condition kits, figures, aftermarket and conversion sets, tools and reference materials would be most appreciated by AMPS, Frank and most certainly, the lucky winner. If you cannot make it to the show this year, you can mail them to Frank at:

Frank J. Ciccarella
5628 W. 89th Street
Oak Lawn, IL 60453

Or you can simply bring them to the show. You can contact Frank at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Visit the AMPS home page (amps-armor.org) to check out the latest news, current list of vendors and seminar speakers. And don't forget, there's still time to pre-register on-line for the show.

Till the next AMPS 2018 Show announcement,

build on!
