After waiting a long time for this to make it to DVD, I finally have Schindler's List.

I certainly can't criticize the movie (and it's not one of those 'fun' things to watch) but I'm not too thrilled about the DVD version. I had bought the wide screen VHS years ago and the DVD offers little more in terms of special features.

The widescreen is great and there is also an included documentary about the Schindler survivors and the Shoah foundation. But, there is no audio commentary and the whole thing is on one two-sided disc.

I know Speilberg doesn't like to talk too much, but I would really have loved to hear about the making of this movie! It would have been great to hear from the cinematographer, editor, or a couple of the actors. i don't think this would have 'cheapened' the film in any way.

A great film with DVD quality is a positive. Lack of audio commentary, cheesy packaging, and one two-sided disc are negatives.
