I am building Takom’s Merkava 1 hybrid and part D13 on the turret in front of the commander’s sight has me stumped. This is the horizontal piece and is the bullet deflected (I’m sure that’s not the technical term!) that deters damage to the sight from incoming small arms fire. The part fits fine, but there is a gap at the front between the piece and the turret. I’ve looked at my book on the Merkava and also the web, but I can’t tell if it should have a gap or not. Some pictures appear like it does, others it doesn’t. Any info regarding this would be appreciated. Thanks.
