C4 is showing a programme tonight at 8pm about Guy Martin building a working WW1 tank from scratch.
Looks fascinating.

Unfortunately, I won't have access to this programming on this side of the pond, but I think I've seen a similar program about building the WWI replica used in the movie "Warhorse"-- is it the same program?

Nope. I've just watched it. Built between July and November but given the amount of work involved just in converting the CAD drawings to manufacturing drawings and then building the thing, a remarkable job. Very impressive piece of work. Powered by a B60, hull built by JCB and completed by Norfolk Tank Museum, where it should be on display.
