Hi I need some advice as I getting back into Armour modelling , I wish to build a 1/35th kit of the Leopard 1A4 dozer Tank {named "Beisiger"} in B Sqn , 1st Armoured Regt 1977.I drove this tank for a year.
Which is the best kit to choose
What and who does a Dozer add on set
I want to go to town with proper Antennas, lights and tracks
Any help would be appreciated
cheers
Chris

Hi,

Few years ago I built Canadian Cat using Australian Myszka's dozer conversion. And I was really happy with final result.
"On my desk" I have Australian Leo 1A4, too. I started with MENG conversion. After applying Barracuda nets construction has paused- I need new motivation.
At the moment I'm in airport in Paris. When I reach home- I'll try to post photos of both tanks.
Regards,
Michal

Depending on the time period of your vehicle and the depth of your wallet to build an AS1 MTD:

Meng TS-007 Leopard 1A3/A4 for your base kit
Mouse House productions MA119 Leopard Dozer Blade
In box review
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/3310

Legend Productions 1/35 Australian Leopard AS1 Main Battle Tank Conversion Set - it comes with your aerials too.

In box review

Then consider
Leopard Workshop road wheels and idlers
Leopard Workshop Exhaust Grills

Mouse House has several separate sets for the AS1 but some are universal fit for older Italeri/Tamiya models too, where as the Legend set is new, especially for the Meng kit and a bit more complete in the one box.

Chris,
Sorry for delay. Underneath You'll find photos of Canadian Leo C2 with dozer blade from Mouse House.

Assemblying of this dozer blade was quick and without major problems.
Last- not least here is a photo of Australian Leo AS1. I've started with MENG kit and another Mouse House conversions. Hope one day I'll find motivation to finish this kit. Major problem is to rework rims of Barracuda nets. They are too thick

Michal

Peter thanks for those great links, I did have in mind the Meng kit, and new about Mouse House, but this will be only the 3rd Armour kit I have built in decades.
I drove the Dozer MBT in 1977 before going onto the normal Aussie Leopard.
Definitely interested in the Grills and Exhaust systems but the photos I have photos of my Leopard in the "Puckapunyal" Winter going on Spring where it was muddy but when the sun came up the skirts really dried dusty , so will need to learn how to do dust as well as clogged muddy road wheels. Any advice on that will also be greatly appreciated. Can you add friends on this Site at all ? Only answering this is my second post mate?
cheers

If you can, I'm not sure how. There is an option to hide someone, but not to follow as best I can see.

The site has lots of friendly guys, many very experienced, so if you need help just post and you are sure to get a reply.

In regard mud and dust (Hmmm there is a well known book about Aussies in Vietnam by that name ) just google Modelling dust on tanks or such and you will get several hits for Youtube videos. There are different techniques and you will see how people do them. Then you can have a go at the one you choose.

I have recently tried the plaster and enamel paint mix airbrushed off an old wide paint brush technique for good results. I also have tried the AK Dust effects paint and stump technique as well
