I have come into a large collection of models (mostly AFV and planes). Anyone out there that can recommend the best way to sell these. Some are in boxes, others are in "baggies". All parts have been checked and the kits are complete. None of these have been assembled. I have no idea as to the present value of any of these kits. I would like to dispose of the entire collection. I believe that there are several hundred kits. Anyone have any suggestions to help?

I would try ebay.
Definitely for the ones in boxes.
If the price is right the ones in baggies are probably sellable as well.
It all depends on what kits it is.
Search ebay first to see if that kit is already for sale to get an idea about a reasonable price.

You would probably need to log and photo the collection to know where to start for yourself on its worth. eBay is an option, there are companies like Plane Detective that buy collections but they are usually for pennies on the dollar. We have model contest in Raleigh this Saturday you could sell the kits to people or other vendors.
A lot depends on how motivated you are, is it being gone a better option then making a few bucks and how much time do you have to move the kits. As a club we sold 600+ kits at our contest once. The goal was to not bring home any kits when the show ended. We had unstarted, started and missing part kits. What monies raised went to the family. Not going lie it was hard work selling them all but our guy got it done.

Don't know where you live in NC. But there is a model show. This Sat 11 Nov 2017. RDUCON 2017 is to be held November 11th, 2017 at Wake Tech Community College.

Look up the local IPMS club in your area. They could look over your collection and even give you an idea what they are worth and they even might be able to help you sell them. I know my local IPMS club (IPMS Phoenix) does it.
Cheers
