Hello.

I intend to build an F-15E Strike Eagle soon, and I am seeking an accurate combination of Tamiya Acrylic colors to reproduce its overall scheme of Gunship Grey.

As Tamiya paint is the most readily available acrylic paint locally (and I've been using it for years), I do not have much of an alternative.

Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Gunship Grey FS36118, I am not sure if Tamiya XF-24 Dark Grey will be the match for that or if you also want to try Gunze"Lacquer" H305 Gray is the equivalent.

Thanks, though I'd rather stick with Tamiya acrylics since I'm already used to their "attitude".

That aside, if Gunze's H-300 range of acrylics were still marketed here, I would've gotten H-305 to 308 for modern USAF fighters...best of my knowledge its no longer sold here...

Any other suggestions?

Academy's Enamel paints has Gunship Gray (MA-28). You can only find 'em at Special Toy Center.

Aeromaster (acrylics) also has Gunship Gray. FS36118. Caveat: Thin it well with distilled water or else it will clog your a/b. Hudson thinner will also do the trick. You can buy them in JMN at Harrison Plaza or at Hobbies and Comics at Makati Cinema Square.

AeroMaster? Never really considered that...maybe I'll give it a try. Maybe...

(Raving Lunatic Mode Engaged) But...hasn't anyone every tried to duplicate that on Tamiya Acrylics? I was able to closely match (I think) all 4 shades of gray of a USAF F-16...including Gunship Gray...but that was nearly a decade ago and I forgot the mix ratio...someone must've done the same and remembered the formula!!! Come on!!! Anyone?! No one?! Aarrrggh!!! (Raving Lunatic Mode Disengaged) #:-)

Ahhh...the headaches of a modeler... :-)

PS: And yes, I've moved from the M1 tank to the F-15E...

I got gunze's 305 to 308 shades of gray in STC/Hobbytoi in Festi/ATC just two weeks ago. They're all in lacquer though. Gunze doesn't have these colors in acrylic. You might wanna check them out if they still have it.

Thanks for the assistance, peeps.

I checked out XF-24 and it seems pretty close. It's on the lighter shade of gray, though...either I apply some XF-1, or apply it as is to achieve scale effect...

Really appreciate your inputs gents.

Tamiya has Gunship Grey in a spray can, TS-48 I think. You might want to check that out. Might even be easier since the Strike Eagle you want to build is overall Gunship Grey.

Hope that helps.
