Well, the Fall season is on us and the number model shows has declined for the time being. So for many of us, that means retreating into our bunkers and spending more time building or finishing up some long overdue modeling projects as winter moves in. With less than 190 days before the 2018 AMPS International Show in Dayton, Ohio, from May 3-5, 2018, we modelers need to start hunkering down and getting these builds done in time for the show, or for some of us procrastinators, get started.

A few words about hotel reservations. The AMPS show this year will be held at the Hope Hotel and Richard C. Holbrooke Conference Center, Dayton, Ohio. By booking your hotel reservations here where the show will be held, you may never leave the place until checkout. There are plenty of amenities to include a first class sports bar & grill. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available at the Hope Hotel with breakfast starting at 6:00 AM. Check out all the Hope Hotel has to offer by visiting their homepage at: http://www.hopehotel.com. Besides other local attractions, the Hope Hotel is just 3 miles from the National Museum of the Air Force for those of us who dabble in aircraft modeling or just like history. Check out the museum at: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil to see all the museum has to offer. Check the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org) for hotel contact information and don't forget, when calling, tell them you are part of the AMPS 2018 show if you want the hotel discount. Once the rooms blocked off for the AMPS show are gone, so is that special show discount.

In other news leading up to the show, the AMPS 2018 show committee is working hard to organize and coordinate a dynamic seminar schedule that is sure to please show attenders. As speakers and topics are confirmed, We'll let modelers know what to expect. On the vendor front, although this is not a complete list, here's a sampling of who's planning to attend so far:

S&J Hobbies
David Doyle
Thatchweave
Tiger Productions
Last Cavalry
Challenger N Scale
Ronnie McNeil
CRM Hobbies
Micro World Games
Wanamaker Models
Tank Video
Hobby Zone
Panda Hobbies
M&Models
Sabot Publishing
HQ 72 REsin Productions
Jane's Tools

Vendor coordinator, Mike Reaves reports there are only a few more tables left, so if you are planning to vend or have a favorite vendor not on this list, let them know there's not much time or table left. Contact Mike at [email protected] for vendor table information and reservations.

So, finish up those builds, make those hotel reservations and start putting away cash for that hugh vendor room.

Till the next AMPS 2018 Show announcement, stay safe and model on and,
don't forget to visit amps-armor.org early and often.

Cheers!
