I have the Tamiya kit in my stash and feel I really should build this rather than let it gather dust. I've been quietly collecting bits for it over the last few years and am almost there as far as AM currently available.
I have several Voyager sets, resin wheels, detail set from Royal Model and will be getting a chain set and possibly winch covers from Shapeways. Also have a few ref books too.
Just wondering if there is anything else out there I've missed?

I think you covered the selection pretty good. The stuff from HDS on Shapeways is superb!

I wish I had had the winch gear covers from Shapeways before I built mine! Someone said the lettering is a bit oversized but for the extra detail they offer I would chance it, definitely.

Just thought of this; someone makes the open cab conversion for the M26 in resin. You MIGHT want to build yours that way.

You had said ANY suggestion so . . . just say'n.

Thanks Michael. I did consider that, but will stick with the armoured cab version this time.

I also forgot to mention the 3D printed drive gear and chain sets available from Shapeways but I bet you already have those on your list.

Gary, somehow I feel we have had the following conversation before. It has always bothered me that Tamiya leaves off what I consider to be a very prominent front end detail; the axle mounting bolts.

So I added them to my DW. (along with a lower differential drain plug.)

Something else that the Tamiya kit leaves out; (I find this missing detail to be rather irritating but I grant you most will not.) That being the final chain drive going forward to connect the front Gar-Wood winch to the engine is missing. (A somewhat hard to see detail that most modelers I am sure can live without.)

Here is a very similar but much more visible Gar-Wood chain drive on the earlier Mack NO prototype.

I have a few reference books which should allow me to pick up on most details which are either missing or need imprkvements.

Wow, look at those chains. I can see each individual links. Are those in Extreme or Ultra detail? They are totally worth having them and thanks for posting!

Now, can one of you share where exactly those winch covers goes? I saw those on SW but there is no pic on how or where they should fit the DW. I mean, I know it on the winch but where on the winch? TIA.

See winch photo several posts above. They form the covers for the gearbox just above the smaller box marked Gar-Wood on the DW winches.

Thanks for pointing this out as I do see where this cover goes. Funny, it right there but before I didn't see it.

Count yourself lucky, Shapeways suddenly decided they can't print these anymore, I've been moving some of my stuff over to Panzer Concepts. I'll see if they can do these as well.
