There was a time not so long ago that when you ordered something from a HK/China based hobby store the ietm(s) would be dispatched pretty quickly and usually arrived in a matter of days in NZ (when using speedpost etc).
Things seemed to have changed of late. Now, most places seem to take at least a week before the order is processed and the order is dispatched and delivery is even longer when asking for and paying for speedpost etc.
What has changed? Frustrating that you pay extra for quicker delivery yet it can take longer than a cheaper option. And why do they now take so long to send the order out compared to before?

Yea, no kidding about delays.

They are getting worse up here in Canada. I think it may have to do with the Fentanyl crisis.

I really do not want to report product not arriving, as I did and much later they showed up, but this is getting ridiculous.

Meanwhile US postal rates are making it so I would rater not order from the states.

LuckyModel and HLJ have quick delivery. Both showed up, within 12 days. My last order from LuckyModel was delayed four days, in customs.

I've ordered from Sincere Hobby and RCJazHobby and gotten great service. Same thing with other Ebay orders from HK.

Who did you place an order with?

RC-Echo UK was one, though they are based in Hong Kong.
Kyoto Factory is overdue
Yotake is another overdue
homesale_estore is another.

And two items from eastern Europe, one which actually shocks me;
scale-model-kits as the service from them is generally really good.
And Bila 1-5

Those companies mentioned earlier, I have dealt with one or two and had great service.

Sincere Hobby was the worse. Took a week before they dispatched order. Sent me tracking number but not courier name. Emailed them several times asking for courier details but no response. Also asked on their FB page but again ignored. Despite paying for 3 day delivery it took some 4 weeks to arrive. Felt a little ripped off.
Juzt ordered from Hobby Easy. Been great in the past but still took nearly a week to dispatch. Still waiting... One item had to come from Europe and that arrived yesterday. Go figure.

I think it is the drug scare, I get my packages, got three yesterday, and they are almost a month behind.

Personally I make many purchases from China and Hongkong and I have never had problems until the last, now this package does not seem to want to leave Shanghai, it is a month in the tour of the city, as an immigrant I know how hard it is to leave your country But now it looks like a joke ..... this is the tracking history....

How long from Australia to US to OK?

You think 10 days?

I am thinking of getting a few sets from a guy called a-modeler in Australia.

A-modeler is really good, allow a little extra time, but they are very good. If that is the one from ebay, their own webstore is BNA.

Yep 10 days plus the "custom factor "
I prefer the website of BNA then the eBay shop but they are for me the best shop down under top customer service and if you put your order before 2pm is same day shipping and you own bna points for discount in the next purchase, for me simply the best ...I just put a order yasterday

I send parcels to my family in in the US regularly. Australia Post tracking ends when the parcel arrives in the US unless you want the super-expensive tracking.

Sometimes my folks get the package a few days after arriving in the US, sometimes it's sits in the US Postal system for a while.

Then there is customs.

So, it's pretty difficult to guarantee a day of delivery.

Yes that is the one, just everybody thinks, I do, that Australia is like on the other side of planet.

Dispatch and shipping times can indeed be a bit random. I just did an order on Monday morning with Luckymodel and another with Hobbyeasy. Both of them shipped on Wednesday (great), and the Hobbyeasy order was delivered today (Saturday).

Which is particularly impressive because I only paid for the small packets air delivery (not the super express option) and I'm in a rural delivery zone which always adds at least a day. The LM order is coming by surface so won't see that for a while. Anyway, very pleased as usual with Hobbyeasy - and good dispatch speed from LM.

Meanwhile, been waiting a fortnight for a package from BNA to arrive - which does seem slow as their stuff always seems to get here quickly, but have noticed last few orders have taken a bit longer.
