I would like to know who makes realistic chains and tow cables for German vehicles in 1/72nd scale?
Also,if there isn't a company out there, I would to know about the chains themselves, such as:
1.what is the actual link size so I can try to figure the size out in 1/72nd?
2.If there is a company out there, what would the appropriate size(inks per inch)be?
Thank you

Try these:
http://eshop.friendshipmodels.org.uk/epages/BT3667.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3667/Products/WBM72024
http://eshop.friendshipmodels.org.uk/epages/BT3667.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3667/Products/WBM76015
You could also try 00 gauge for trains that is more or less the same scale as 1/76 1/72.
Your welcome

Hey Jody,
I'm not sure what the German tow chains look like but you may want to check out TotalNavy.com. They also list a phone number 718-471-5464. They offer model ship anchor chain in 1/200, 1/350, and 1/700 scales. They are routinely available on ebay for $3.50 for a 12 inch length. I've got a set of each and I really like them. One of the larger scales might meet your needs in 1/72.

Did the German army use chains much? I see far more use of wire tow ropes than of chain, as they are more useful for towing purposes. Personally I favour Karaya but there are a couple of companies making decent copper wire tow ropes made in prototypical manner.

Have to agree, as far as I know chains were not used for towing...
