I need to add a few micro lights to a model I am planning. They need to be dc and I have no idea where to start on controllers. LED's are prefered. Basically, I am completely new to this and could use any advice on achieving artificial lighting of an interior. TIA

If you are just using a few lights without any effects you don't need a controller. If you want to get elaborate get a prebuilt lighting kit and adapt it to your desires. They will contain everything you will need you just have to mount it. Madman Lighting and Voodoofx are two I've used in the past on sci-fi kits. You'll need to do some soldering but it's basic level stuff.
