Are you looking for any particular scale?

Academy made a pretty good 4.2 a while back-- it was part of their M151 kit as I recall-- so did Tamiya. Not sure if anyone has kitted one since. These are pretty long in the tooth now.

Gees must be sleeping in 1/35 scale for the M-110 I am working on.
Will look for Tamiya deal.
One thing I like about 1/6 scale can get both.
Thanks
Jeff

So I checked my stash-- the Academy M151A2 with trailer comes with a 4.2 inch Mortar like I thought. Not sure Academy kitted it separately. Tamiya did kit it separately, but I think it's long OOP. I have the Tamiya M106 mortar carrier built up on my shelf (I used to command a platoon with one). In comparing the two, the Academy kit is newer and more detailed. I'm willing to send you my Academy 4.2 mortar if you want it. Just PM me your address.

Jeff,
Not really, but thanks for the offer. I have quite a stash of stuff now, and realize at my age, I probably won't get around to building everything anyway. I have several like-minded modeling friends in the area where I live, and we belong to an informal group that is very helpful and shares what they have with others. We've found it's better to "give than to receive" to help fellow modelers out on occasion. I'll get it in the mail this next week. Looking forward to your M110 build too. Just as a side note, not many folks realize the 4.2 inch mortar was designed to be used as a chemical weapon-- firing Smoke and Mustard gas rounds, and based on WWI's Stokes Mortar. I have some interesting stories about experiences with the 4.2 both from my time as a CAV Platoon leader in the 11th ACR (one M106 in each Platoon) and as a Chemical Officer recovering WWII chemical munitions in the Pacific and Utah. The 4.2 was a very accurate, rugged and dependable weapon, but it was really too heavy to carry, and was never intended to be man-portable, at least for very long anyway.

Sounds the plan Russ.
A lot of work to bring older models up to date.
But as not German so won't see any versions of the M-110 , or M-107 in future.
