Hi guys,
I thought this might be interesting to some of you,
a few months ago I bought this 'BILLY/OXBERG' bookcase at Ikea, but I've only put it together yesterday because a lack of time...
This bookcase has clear glass doors and comes with 6 shelves (260x760mm ~ 10.2"x29.9") to display your models or diorama's.
It's advised to connect it to the wall (2 hooks included)

I'm gonna add a LED strip for each shelve later this week, will upload some pictures when it's done.

BILLY / OXBERG
80x30x202 cm

the Tiger II and Willy jeep gives you an idea of the size (1/35);

(the spacing between the doors can be adjusted or sealed with a rubber strip)

Kind regards
Steven

In case you didn't know, there are glass shelves for the Billy bookcase. Not sure if its available in your neck of the woods.

You can also buy extra wooden shelves and there is another unit that can go on top of this. Yes I have two of each and the wife has a large number of them for DVD'a to sit on.

I have the same setup for my models and added a few more shelves to get more room. Unfortunately I don't have room for another one, but that forces me to get rid of some older models which are not quite up to my current standards...

Cheers!

I've got the same setup since years and in spite of the small gaps, the dust soemhow does not enter and the models stay clean

Ok, that's tempting. 80x30x202 cm = 31 1⁄2 x 11 1/4 shelves. Plenty for 1/35 vehicle and most ship models, but too small for most 1/48 or larger multi-engine aircraft.

For smaller models, the Detolf from IKEA is also useful:
