Good Morning ! I was just checking "Dragon's deal of the day" and one of the offerings is the Black Label MIM-104 Patriot SAM System for $50 or half price. Does it suffer the curse of the other "Black Plague" kits and I should run or does it build up into a well fitting, fairly accurate version of a Patriot?

I did a build review of the Dragon PAC-3 PATRIOT Launcher kit here. It is pretty good, but nowhere near as nice as Trumpeter's offering. The biggest downfall I see is the solidly molded walking platforms, which are open mesh on the real thing. At $50, it is a pretty good deal though.
