Dive Bomber

It's the Sherman!!

AA Gun??

No, seriously, can anyone of you indentify these weapons? Ok, the first pic is a Dive Bomber but which one? I was thinking of either the SBD series or the Aichival ones. As for the Sherman, which variant was it? I recon it could not be the M4A1 due to the tracks. On the last 2 photos, the two barreled cannon looks more of an AA gun while the single barrel like a mortar.

More detailed pics at my gallery at the album "unknown". Thanks!

*Photos were shot at the Ligayen Gulf, Pangasinan

Hi Shonen,

Those fotos are great !!! Actually the tank is a post war M-24 Chaffee since it's notable that it has a two-pin rubber block T85E1 pattern track.

And I thought that was the Sherman! Silly me! :-)

Hi Shonen,

Those fotos are great !!! Actually the tanks you are mentioning are both early M24 Chaffee light tank( 3rd photo- notable for the metal T72E2 tracks)
And on your secong photo is a "post war" Chaffee which features the two-pin rubber block T85E1 pattern track.
Italeri has re-release this model. to the early M24. So you can model it into WWII or Korean era

Heheh sorry didn't pay much attention on the 3rd photo.. kaya i deleted the first posting...

Nyahaha, my lola's house is 15 minutes from that place (I'm primarily from Pangasinan myself, pero sa Dagupan ako nakatira).

Good thing you didn't attempt to board one of those, as you might have been faced with a cockpit(s) which doubled as comfort-rooms in the past. Seriously, ginagawa na CR yan eh, kaya it's kinda disappointing to think about it. Oh well.

Yeah, gusto ko sanang pumasok sa cockpit but stopped by that stench. Ewww.... baho! Pipicturan ko sana yung rear ng tank kaso nga lang puro langaw na nagsisiliparan. #:-) #:-)

Shonen,

Saw these stuff when I was in Lingayen myself. Bought a couple of bottles of bagoong. Mmmm!

Blitz is right. The tank is actually an M-24. As for the plane, its a T-6 Texan orginally repainted to represent a Zero. I got pics of that when it was still being assembled as a museum piece. The gun looks like a 40mm naval AA mount.

Great pics.

Thanks Buck! I really want to take that tank. Just look at it! It's just wasted there. Nilalangaw pa nga at mabaho. I wish I could get that and remodel that to a museum piece. :-)

Of course. Who doesn't sh*t in their pants when being fired upon by Zeros and AAA? #:-)

Looks like you speak from experience, Jomz (and I mean a bad experience) #:-) #:-) #:-)

Hi there SR. That's why those pics looks familiar. I've been to that place about three years ago. We stopped by it on our way back to Manila from Dagupan.

In light of Jomz's and SR's icky-icky findings, was this stop-over occasioned by conducting pee-pee and pooping on the tank and plane respectively?

I spent a lot of years as a child visiting the place where Shonen took his pictures. It's primarily a park, reminiscient of Manila Bay so ayun, plus my Lola and my Lolo who's a Judge lives in Lingayen too. I live in the city of Dagupan which is around 30 minutes from the place, and which is also 5 minutes from Bonuan where most of the Bagoong Buck got comes from. Oh yeah, it's also the source of the famous Bonuan Bangus, so yeah, sawang sawa na ako sa bagoong ang bangus, if you have to ask! Hehe!

Buck have you tried Padas, which is a variant of Bagoong, pero yung mga isda pwede mo papakin. Hehe!

Not really GI. We had a long day traveling & inspecting sites for a proposed project in Pangasinan so it was just a stop-over for some fresh air.
