Greetings from Indianapolis, Indiana! I go by M1A1MstrGn on the forum here. I started modeling with my Father when I was 8 or 9 back in the early 1960s. Then my only modeling interest was WW1 & WW2 aircraft in 1/72 scale, then later in 1/48 scale. Then I added modern aircraft. My Dad & I made over 275 1/72 planes which hung from nails on the walls of my bedroom. We also had about 50 1/48 aircraft in our "model factory" back workroom. I joined the US Army as an Armor crewman on M60A1 tanks where I discovered 1/35 scale Armor models. However, due to Army moves, a divorce and life in general my last model project was around 1979 or 1980. I'm retired now and have one or 2 last projects I intend to work on; the M1A1 HA tank I was on during Desert Storm (A Troop, 1/4 Armored Cavalry - 1st Infantry Division) & perhaps one other; an old M1 which I was on during the Winter REFORGER while I was stationed in Fulda, W. Germany in the 11th Cavalry. We "painted" camouflage patterns on our tanks with whitewash like the Germans did in WW2 (& still do.) These tanks looked really interesting!
I really enjoy seeing all the great works here. I especially enjoy seeing the projects by modelers overseas.
Keep up the good work, fellow modelers!
