I came across a video of a bloke painting a plane when I was looking for tips on painting bombs.

He primed it in grey
painted it in grey
added black panel lines
coated it in two coats of green blue ish tint
then sprayed it all black
then applied the blue grey again
then a gloss coat
then black panel wash the whole thing
then added some mud wash
then sprayed it again in clear.

I just dont get it, everything under the black vanished.
All I can see is bluie grey and some panel wash.

I think he is color blind.

all that time and money, what a waste.

Nope. I see two alternatives for this behaviour:

1. It made him happy. Each to his own I suppose and if this makes him happy then so be it. Not for me to judge but it's certainly a lot better than overconsuming alcohol or doing drugs. Not my cup of tea though ...

2. He was doing it as some kind of sarcastic comment. Just to show what a waste of effort it actually was.

There is a danger that fine details could become blurred, this depends a little on what kind of paint that is used ....
