I have not built it but I do know this kit is a modified 1999 rebox of the original 1989 issued "Western Star" kit. It has been reboxed in various forms many times. I understand the quality is pretty good on Italeri big trucks although they have fudged a few things on some kits. A kit was reissued at one point - a Peterbilt 359 I think - but based on a different truck co. with incorrect engine.

Thanks Julian , I was particularly interested to know what the engine is in the truck , and therefore what colour it should be painted . I asked one of the blokes I work with , who has a Western Star what kind of engine can as standard with the truck and he told me that it was up to the purchaser .Cummins , Detroit Diesel , or CAT . Although now Caterpillar makes their own trucks , and won't put one in another branded truck , apparently .
I'll look around before painting .

Here is a link to a "first look" at the Round2 re-issued AMT 1977 Western Star. I understand the have cleaned up the molds.
