Ok, I know Microsol is best used with decals but what does it do? Does it look better with it or add special effects on it?

I think that Microsol and Microset are specially designed to help with decals applications or removal. They hepl you softening the decal to have better adhesion, silvering reduction and to shape them properly on difficult areas.

I used to try and 'press' decals down, especially over curves and panel lines etc. Microsol and Microset are much better! Get your decal into position, gently remove air underneath with lint free cotton, then swab with microsol or microset, one is stronger than the other. The decal will wrinkle, don;t touch it, come back in the morning, and the decal will look great! NO silvering.
These (or something very much like them) are MUST have products Shonen!

The easiest way to remember the difference between Microset and Microsol is -----
Microset - sets the decal - good for smooth surfaces. Helps lessen "silvering"
Microsol - softens the decal to make it conform to irregular surfaces - Warning, this will wrinkle the decal. Leave it until it dries.

I just asked about these products and went ahead and used them on my bergetiger. I brushed microset on the model and then placed the decal. I brushed on microsol and after 20 minutes I lightly brushed on some more microsol. The decals conformed perfectly over the zimmerit and a view port. Absolutely no silvering. I have brushed johnssons over the decals tonight ... and they just look like they were painted on. Really amazing products. This is what i will be using in future! Recommended!

Easy, I think Hannants must sell it, but if not then it's always available on all the stands at any model show, e.g. next week at Crewe?

Microscale makes it.
You can order them from Hannant's - 2.50 GBP per bottle, but you have to order them with a boxed kit and total order has to be above 30 punds...

Ok, got these 2 items. Which one should come first? I will use this for my AH-64A Apache by Academy 1/48.

Vinegar before or after the salad? eerr i mean the decals!! Could some italian Balsamiko of Modena do the job? Quitting the jokes i was told from the hobby shop that a pair of Gunze's fluids are the same with microsol. Could it be? Have u ever tried them ?
