Every fourth quarter of each year, IPMS Philippines - Bert Anido holds its annual scale model competition. I've decided to enter a model for the first time in a competition too.

I mostly took photos of aircraft since I only post at other aircraft model forums.

There was a lot of non-competitor displays, some of which are from the sponsors of the show. There might be some entries that were displayed with the non-entries, they can be easily spotted since all entries had a number tag with them.

Now for some large scale jets and props. These are two separate categories.

Now here are the 1/48 scale entries. For this, there are separate categories for Jets and Props, and Modified and OOB builds.

Time for the 1/72 scale. Like the 1/48th, this has separate categories for Jets and Props, OOB and Modified builds, and also small and large sizes (It's definitely unfair to put a single prop fighter against a four-engine bomber even if they're both 1/72, right?)

Anyway here are the jets.

For the propellers. My entry is here, the A6M2b Zero Fighter.

And these other five planes are my competition!

Plus some huge bombers under the large 1/72 category.

Anyway, here's some pretty amazing news.

I bagged the third place for the 1/72 Aircraft, OOB, Small Category!

It was surely exhilarating since I wasn't expecting much, but I'm glad that I placed third out of eight entries. I had no weathering on my plane, and my paint job was quite simple. I guess my edge there went to the opened cockpit which exposed all those little pieces that Tamiya incorporated into the kit's design. So yeah, it was indeed a great experience considering I've just started modeling this year and it was first time joining a competition.

My other entry was part of the 1/35 Armored, Tracked, OOB Category. My very first attempt at weathering, and my very first tank model. Tamiya's M41 Walker Bulldog.
