The Mantua model of Victory does a poor job of explaining where the Stays are reeved to. The drawing shows one stay leading from the tip of the bow-sprit up to the top of the fore mast and then down to the Starboard side dead-eye only with no mention of it also going to the Port side. In fact, some pictures show only one stay and others show two lines Port and Starboard. What is the correct rigging? Thanks for your help.

I am not familiar with the Mantua model, I have had the Heller kit in the stash for many a year. What period does the Mantua depict her? Her rigging was altered several times, even her mainmast was resteped. You may find this book usful, "HMS Victory, her construction, career and restoration", by Alan Mc Gowan or this site.

Thank you for your kiresponse and suggestions. I will look at them in the morning. My model is said to be rigged as used at Trafalgar 1805.
